The best (current) goalie in the NHL, hands down, right now is
Ryan Miller. He has less of a club to work with than
Marc-Andre Fleury, certainly no where near the offensive talent of Pittsburgh, and he's allowing less than 2 goals a night.
The Flyers lead the NHL with 3.67 goals a game but ... we all know that defense and goaltending win night-in, night-out ... I don't expect the Flyers to fare very well tomorrow in Buffalo simply because, half the team is flu-ridden and they appear energy-depleted.
All those healthy off days in October, followed by a sickly crew going to "no, no, no, we don't want no Buff-a-lo" and then coming back to face the St. Louis Blues. Another back-to-back that could have been avoided w/better scheduling.
Matt Carle did not skate today. Neither did
Danny Briere or
Ryan Parent. All three are flu-ridden although Briere and Parent also have injuries.
Hats off to
Jeff Carter for gutting out 2 days of practice sick. He could have rested but chose to be on the ice. His voice is foghorn, at this point.
