After an impressive win over the Rangers on Tuesday night the Vancouver Canucks take their limping roadshow out to the mid west to play the Wild. It's hard not to refer to the Canucks as creative they find new ways to lose man games...this time it's
Shane O'Brien who is out for a one game suspension for poking
Sean Avery.
Ahh yes, another SOB meathead play. It's kinda funny, if you haven't seen the clip, go to you tube and have a look. If I were O'Brien I would have yapped at Avery and smacked Ferraro as there would have been no suspension. Regardless it's another example of a poor decision making by SOB- I think we can start referring to him as "that dumb SOB".
The Wild are struggling right now and are tied for dead last in the conference with Anaheim. The Wild have won their last two regular season games and seem to moving in the right direction. The same could be said for Vancouver. After the 7 goal beat down in Anaheim the Canucks have come back and played a solid team effort against NY. There was passion, energy and camaraderie that has been vacant at times from the ice many games this year.
Going into these back to back games against Minnesota and Dallas the Canucks need to rely on the 'team effort' some more. Without it they will be hard pressed to win. Although they had the Wild's number last season and have won the first encounter this year the Wild are always up for games against Vancouver. In fact ever since 2003 many of their fans consider Vancouver to be the biggest rival.
SOB is out tonight and that means if AV decides to dress 7 defensemen- which I think he should- Rome is in and may see time on the 4th line as will
Kevin Bieksa. If you go to Canucks dot com it lists Rome as in but no Schneider and has a whole on the left wing for the 4th line. I would expect to see Schneider play and see Bieksa on that wing at times.
I doubt the game is pretty but I do suspect that the Canucks can pull this one out before facing a Stars team tomorrow night looking for redemption after a blow call against them last night versus Calgary.
Enjoy the game.
