Tit for tat. Biron shuts out Buffalo 5-0. Buffalo shuts out the Islanders 3-0.
Per usual,
Ryan Miller was Buffalo's best player on this night. He earns his second shutout of the season. 24 saves for Team USA's starting goaltender.

Goose and Kaleta were out of Buffalo's lineup saturday night. Both played large and in charge in the Buffalo win.

The Buffalo PP entered the game with an anemic 21st ranking.
Derek Roy and Thomas Vanek lifted Buffalo with PPGs.
The goal was Roy's first of the season. Maybe Lindy Ruff should call Roy out for lack of goal production more often, eh? For every action is an opposite and equal reaction!

In the third period, even strength, Goose was rewarded for driving Biron's blue with his stick on the ice. Myers and Tallinder with assists.

Ryan Miller will battle Marty Biron tonight.
Miller will battle Emery Friday night.
Look for
Jhonas Enroth to get the Buffalo net in Boston on Saturday night. The Swede has been recalled from Portlnd.
Patrick Lalime is "under the weather', hence its a chance for Enroth to shine. It appeared to me that Lalime was favouring his groing / hip when he left the building after the game day skate this morning.
35 year old goalies with wonky groins / hips are a cause for concern in the NHL, especially true in Buffalo where
Ryan Miller will need nights off as the Olympic break gets closer. Better have a lead pipe lock as a back up who's number you can call with confidence. The sabres learned the hard way last season that once Miller was injured, Lalime and his questionable hip were not good enough to earn key points for the playoff-starved Sabres.
Enroth is 3-7 with a 3.90 GAA and an .872 save %.

Now might be a good time for Buffalo to make a play for Marty Biron. I spoke with two Islanders sources today who tell me that
Rick DiPietro is working out hard on and off the ice and that he may be back with two weeks timee. GM Garth Snow will be fielding offers for Biron as he'll have a crowded house in the blue when DP returns.

Betcha didn't know that
Matt Moulson of the Islanders has a sister who uused to play for Niagara University's Women's varsity hockey team. His younger bro, Chris, plays at Cornell--- like his brother Matt. Cornell defeated NU in OT,
