He's come a long way in a short period of time. from can't-miss prospect, to the waiver wire, to two Eastern conference Finals, to super sniperdom in the annals of Buffalo hockey lore, to a long term multi-million dollar NHL contract.
Pommer's on a pretty impressive run.
He was excused from practice on Monday.
He and his wife welcomed their first child into the world.
Congrats, Pommer.

Marty Biron brings his
7-2-1 lifetime record vs. Buffalo into the HSBC Arena on Wednesday night. With Roloson starting vs. Edmonton Monday night, #43 will get the net in Buffalo. He made 38 saves in his team's 5-0 shutout win over the Sabres on the Island Saturday night. The win was the 200th of Marty's career.
I expect to see several inquisitive scouts in Buffalo to chart Marty's progress. The time is nearing for NYI GM, Garth Snow, to activate his oft-injured, grossly overpaid starting goaltender,
Rick DiPietro from tthe IR. Keeping three number one goaltenders is not an option for Snow. He is said to be interested in acquiring a top six Dman in exchange for Biron. Roloson has a two year deal at $2.5 large per copy. Marty has a one year deal that will be very cap-friendly to a team like Chicago, Atlanta or Detroit.
Snow will be negotiating from a position of strength. Biron will be a number one goalie before too long.
