Islanders 4 - Capitals 3(OT)

Random Game Notes

- The Isles were tenacious and Dwayne Roloson was yet again strong against the Caps, making 37 saves on 40 shots, en route tot the Isles OT victory.

- Tomas Fleischmann obviously was not affected by the back-to-back games, potting 2 goals in the 2nd to keep the Caps in the game.

- Theo was not as strong as he has been of late, but can hardly be blamed as the reason for the loss.

- Mike Green's 2 assists kept his point streak alive, increasing it to 8 games in a row.

- Mark Streit's game winner snapped a 10 game goal-less drought for the Swiss rearguard. He also added on assist.

- Kudos to the Isles for the hard-fought victory. This is the second consecutive game in less than a week where they have taken Washington to overtime.

- The Caps should have earned another 2 points, but their inability to string together some consistent play for a full 3 periods finally cost them.

- The upside is that the Caps have earned 13 of a possible 14 points in their last 7 games and will have a rare Saturday off to rest and regroup.
