Nearly five full days have passed since the Bruins last partook in a regular season game. After finally peaking over .500 for the first time in 2009-10 with their 4-3 SO victory in Ottawa on Saturday, the B's will finally hit the ice on Thursday in hopes of putting together their first winning streak of the year. It won't be easy as the visiting Devils come to town with a 5-0-0 record on the road, and the league's all time leader in wins between the pipes.

Martin Brodeur has started all ten games for the Devils thus far, with summer signing Yann Danis killing time doing crossword puzzles or knitting a warm winter hat at the end of New Jersey's bench, bored out of his mind. Brodeur enters the game with a 6-4-0 record, 2.58 GAA and .909 Sv%. Now might be a nice time to let Danis make his debut for the Devils, as Brodeur allowed four goals last night in a home loss to the Sabres.

In his career, Brodeur is 22-15-8-0 against Boston, with a 2.47 GAA and .911 Sv% in 47 appearances.

The Boston Globe is reporting that Tim Thomas was the first goaltender off the ice this morning for the Bruins, indicating he will get the nod in net tonight. Thomas has been impressive in his last two starts, following up a 3-2 win against Nashville with an array of dazzling, game-saving stops in the 4-3 SO victory over the Sens. In his career, Thomas is 4-3-0-3 against New Jersey with a 2.39 GAA and .920 Sv%. The Bruins' netminder allowed just 5 goals in 4 starts against the Devils last year.

After tonight the Bruins' have a duo of matinees this weekend. Saturday they will play host to the Oilers at 1:00pm before heading to MSG for a Sunday afternoon matchup with the Rangers.

A few quick facts for you about the lifetime series between the B's and Devils:

*Boston is 63-34-19-9 against the Devils all time, with a 34-17-8-5 record at home.

* The last time the Bruins shutout the Devils at home was way back on 1/26/95. Blaine Lacher got the win with a 1-0 blanking of New Jersey.

* The last time the Devils shutout the B's in Boston was 12/30/02. Martin Brodeur was the victor in a 1-0 Devils' win.

* The Devils beat the Bruins 4-3 in OT on 1/29/09, with Jamie Langenbrunner silencing the Boston crowd at 1:11 of the extra frame.

* Boston has not swept the season series against New Jersey since 1985-86, when they won all three matchups.
