GREAT READ:

Check out our own Dave Morris' (davetherave) great article on the Blackhawk literary tradition. http://www.kuklaskorner.com/index.php/hockey/comments/must_have_blackhawks_books/

SEABROOK BACK:

Looks like Brent Seabrook will return for tonight's contest at Nashville. According to some fine reporting from our friend Tim Sassone at the Daily Herald, Seabrook's concussion symptoms were apparently less severe than those of Captain Jonathan Toews, who remains out likely until next week at the earliest.

HOSSA PRACTICES:

Prized free agent RW Marian Hossa is now practicing with the team and sets his debut at three to four weeks from now, or approximately November 20. Sassone quoted coach Joel Quenneville as saying Hossa, unlike other players coming off extended injury, actually added to the tempo of practice with his speed and skill.

Adam Kempenaar of cbh.com recently ran a fan contest to submit the best line combination for Hossa. None of the three winners were my choice. I would put Hossa with Toews at center and Patrick Sharp at LW. My second line would be the current (very effective) second line: Dustin Byfuglien, Dave Bolland and Patrick Kane. Third would be Andrew Ladd, John Madden and Kris Versteeg, and fourth would be Tomas Kopecky, Colin Fraser and Troy Brouwer.

HAWKS RIDING HUET:

Cristobal Huet gets his third consecutive start tonight in Nashville, and might also play tomorrow at the U.C. versus Montreal, depending on how he looks tonight.

Huet has looked very sharp in his last two outings, and clearly the Blackhawks coaching staff wants to continue to build his confidence.

MYSTERY GOALIE IN MONTREAL:

Per Ek's blog yesterday, if the Habs are looking to deal Carey Price for a mystery goalie who Habs fans "will love," I have to wonder if it isn't former Stanley Cup winner and native Quebecois, J.S. Giguere. Makes a lot of sense to me.

THE POOR MAN'S BURISH:

Former Wisconsin Badger Jake Dowell is winning fans in Blackhawk Nation with his gritty play on the Hawks' fourth line. While not quite the athlete Burish is, Dowell plays the game much the same way as his former college teammate.

HOCKEY NIGHT IN MUSIC CITY:

Game time, 8 Eastern, 7 Central. See the usual suspects on the board tonight!
