Gm 9 At Clr: Time for a change? |

While the Canes were off on their State Fair road trip on Friday, I (with my wife as our fearless leader of course) had the guts to tote the 3 little people off to the state fair. I did watch until we were down 4-2 on the DVR late Saturday and managed to fit in the rest of it in the middle of a busy Saturday. I am going to skip to Saturday's more recent game, but might try to get back to this if I can find the time.
My 3 quick hitters:
1) This game is probably the best the Canes have come out on the road this season. For 13 minutes the Canes had jump, speed up the ice and everything else you could hope for.
2) But man did they just run out of gas in a hurry. As the game wore on the Canes looked older and slower to the puck not wiser and more experienced.
3) With more young talent in the AHL than we have had in awhile, how far are we from seeing some of these kids in the lineup?
4) On the hit: First, I am glad to hear that
Darcy Tucker seems to be doing relatively okay at least compared to the scene leaving the ice on a stretcher. Second, I am glad the NHL did the right thing. It was a hit to the back against the boards, so despite being a Ruutu fan, there just is no candy-coating what happened. Third, this 1 play is not the correct way to view
Tuomo Ruutu who is an honest version of a physical player who just made a bad decision on that play.
Go Canes!
