It’s game night in Boston… first off, there will be no HockeyBuzz Radio tonight given the Preds/Bruins 6pm start time. There are some interesting storylines in and around tonight’s game:

> Colin Wilson’s homecoming – After leading the BU Terriers to an NCAA Championship, Colin Wilson comes back to Boston. So far he has garnered some serious media attention. Wilson, along with a group of teammates and front office staff attended the BU/Notre Dame game last night… much to Pete Weber’s delight, the Irish won 3-0.

> Injuries – While the Preds injury woes are well documented, the Bruins are beginning to add some names to IR. In addition to winger Milan Lucic, the B’s now are announcing that Marc Savard, their leading scorer, is out 4-6 weeks with a broken foot.

> Expectations – The Bruins came into this season with the weight of the world on their shoulders from an expectation perspective. They have not exactly lit it up with a 3-4-0 start to the season, only one more point than the Preds.

> Newcomers – The Bruins welcome Dan Paille to their lineup tonight, fresh from a trade with Buffalo. The Preds will welcome Dave Scatchard to the third line, Scatchard will play his first NHL game in two years.

According to Tom Callahan’s tweet earlier today, Tim Thomas will be in goal for the Bruins, John Glennon is reporting (http://blogs.tennessean.com/predators/) that Dan Ellis is in net tonight for the Preds. Coverage is on FSTennesse at 6pm, radio coverage on 104.5 the Zone. The Preds head to Ottawa after the game tonight. The Sens are off to a hot start at 5-2-0, good for second in the East.

OFF TOPIC – As a long time fan of The Beatles, I have been listening to the remastered CD’s released a few weeks ago. Sonically, they are a huge improvement from the mushy sound of the original CD releases from the 90’s. Crisp, but warm… a lot of the sound that I was used to hearing from the vinyl is back… I still prefer the vinyl, but this remastered collection is as close as you can get without pops and scratches. George Martin and his son have done an incredible job.

HockeyBuzz Radio is back with a new season. A podcast of our last show is available at www.hockeybuzzradio.com. Due to the Boston game starting at 6pm, there will be no show this week. Our next show will be on Wednesday, October 28th.
