The Following is from TSN.ca....and was from an interview on the great 1040am Sports Radio station in vancouver.

"Before they signed in Anaheim that was definitely a big discussion. But at that time, it was difficult because Rob was in a situation where he was still one year away from being an unrestricted free agent, so he still had a year left to stay in Anaheim,” explained Kevin Epp, who represents both players. “In Scott's case, he was unrestricted, and considered very much playing in Canada for the Canucks or Calgary or somewhere near his off-season home and staying out West. I think everyone dreams of playing near your hometown or in Canada or in British Columbia.”

So many of you have logically have questioned the fact that I have not put Vancouver as a possible destination for the Niedermayers on my Rumour Chart.

I don't blame you, obviously the agent would know these things and I don't doubt that they would love playing near their hometown. Kevin Epp is an outstanding agent as well. One of those guys that no one has a bad word to say about. He is doing his job here and I respect that.

My decision to leave Vancouver off for now is based on my gut instinct which is based on the many conversations I have had with folks on and off the record about many players.

What I have heard repeatedly is the undercurrent Scott is staying in Anaheim...The Ducks are so sure about this that they were willing to almost move Pronger at the deadline. However, I have also heard that Scott wants the Ducks to sign Rob as well, and the Ducks are in a bind. I do believe that Rob and Scott are pretty much a package deal at this point. That is at least what I am hearing.

I have heard that NJ may be willing to sign both, and this of course is a place that Scott would like to play, but more so they both fill needs in NJ.

While you can always use the Niedermayers, are they filling the needs the Canucks have?

Not in my opinion, so for now it will take more than the agent saying that they would be interested in playing near home for me to really consider this as a viable option.

The Canucks are in a negotiation of their own here with the Sedins. It helps the team to be able to show the Sedins that there are options. While I say that, I think the Vancouver Canucks are MUCH better with the Sedins over the Niedermayers...

There will be more this afternoon...A Hockeybuzzcast at 4 and the first UFA Q&A for Season Ticket Holders at 5. I am also now going in to tweak the Rumor Chart. I will alert you as to who I tweak in my next blog before 4.

Lots of questions regarding the NHL UFA RUMOR CHART since it's launch yesterday...

#1 It is early, but teams are starting to lineup with players. Many are asking, How can this be since they are not technically allowed to discuss until July 1. First off, that is true, and is also ridiculous. There should be a week prior to July 1 at least where players can visit with teams. These are big decisions made under the gun. But since there isn't, what we always see and hear are the rumors and we are in what I like to call "high school love letter mode" where people are asking their friends to ask someon else if they like them or not.

#2. The percentages are merely guesses based on what I am hearing, and I tweak them right up until July 1. It is not possible to be privy to EVERY rumor out there, so quite often the early percentages can be out of whack a bit. They will get better and better to what actually will go down on July 1 as we get closer and closer...

#3 Why are some players that are still playing 100 percent for their current team? Well, I simply don't find it appropriate to discuss rumors with players still competing with their team for the Stanley Cup.

So this is the first
