Nor-cal vs. So-cal; Sharks and Ducks Finally Square Off In April

I can already feel the rumble building! The match up that could have been so many times before is finally here. The Sharks vs. Ducks, Nor-cal vs. So-cal, San Jose vs. Anaheim, call it what you will it is sure to bring the state down. I am almost convinced that the earthquake this series could cause will finally detach California from the continent.

So are you ready Sharks fans? I hope so. The rumblings I have heard so far go both ways; some happy, some worried. The Sharks are the better team here, the question is can they play better hockey than the Ducks and win the series. For me the only disadvantage the Sharks face is mental. The two teams have fought it out for years now and for whatever reason the Ducks seem to always get the better of the Sharks. Now this can be due to a few different reasons; the Sharks just happen to have off nights when they play the Ducks, the Sharks over- prepare, or they are intimidated by the Ducks. To tell you the truth I don’t know what I believe at this point.

We can look at the fact that the Sharks won the season series 4-2 over their So-cal rival and say, “well the playoff series should go the same way”. That would not be a wise way of analyzing this series. There is a lot of breaking down to be down and it will be coming over the next couple days. Look for a full series preview, a Sharksbuzz episode breaking things down, and plenty of analyzing and commentary over the next two days.

No matter how we analysts break this down it is sure to be a thrilling series. Sharks fans rejoice, it is time to rock the Tank once again for some Sharks playoff hockey.

Stay tuned for more throughout the playoffs! GO SHARKS!
