Former St. Louis first round draft choice
Lars Eller suffered a shoulder injury several days ago while skating in a Swedish Elite League playoff game.
I'm told this evening Eller will return to St. Louis very soon to be checked out by Blues Doctors. The Blues wisely want to have him looked at by their own people to determine the severity of the injury.
Obviously the injury is significant considering the fact the Blues are bringing him in. If Eller needs surgery the Blues would like to get it done as soon as possible to allow for more recovery time.
Paul Kariya will return to Vail Colorado by next week at the latest to have tests performed on both of his surgically repaired hips. As we sit right now Kariya is progressing very well and still has a strong chance to return to the lineup if the Blues reach the playoffs. Kariya first needs to be cleared to return to live action.

Does 6'4"
Rick Nash find comfort in knowing 5' 10"
Kris Russell is there to defend him when he gets rocked by an opposing player? I don't know what was worse for Nash. The hit or seeing the smallest guy on the team having to stick up for him.
Blues goaltender
Chris Mason has cracked the top 10 in GAA, not too bad considering it wasn’t too long ago he was 26th in the league.
This past week the Blues have been working hard behind the scenes doing advanced business to prepare for next season. Do fans think the Blues should re-sign
Mike Weaver? He’s been a true pro since day one and isn’t a bad player to keep around for another year.
I stand by my comment I made several weeks ago when I asked if USA hockey really believes they will find 20 players better than Oshie when the 2010 Olympic roster is selected.
Kansas City is expected to announce the arrival of a professional hockey team early this month. The team will participate in the CHL and play inside a brand new $70 million state of the art building located in Independence, Missouri.
Kansas City remains hopeful they land an NHL team to play in the beautiful Sprint Center by the 2010-2011 season.
