Devils thoughts...

4-0 loss to the Isles is unacceptable. Lets step into reality as the momentum the Devils have held is truly hard to maintain. That ride propelled us to the top of the Atlantic and show the NHL we are for real!
Rich Chere of the Star Ledger suggests the Bruins/Sharks victories got to the Devils’ heads. Overconfidence? Perhaps and I would agree with Mr. Chere. This has to be the first time I use the word “overconfidence” with a New Jersey Devils team.
He also suggests the trading deadline also being a distraction. As much as I would like a sniper and most importantly a top 4 Dman, I believe Id rather have the chemistry we have now.

Recent talks of Pronger and the Niedermayers (yes both) coming to Jersey I would have to say is reaching for the stars.
Schneider would have been a huge pickup but the likes of Leopold, Morris would make me happy. Jovanovski I would also like.
I dot think Lou will do something because this year and next we have to make a serious push for the organization and for Marty.

I would venture to say not many teams in the East would want a playoff birth with this team unless the team derails from it’s course.
Fact is that, at the very least, we will make ONE blockbuster acquisition before the deadline – The Devils will add the best goaltender ever in the NHL to it’s lineup. Question is; Can Brodeur return to his perennial All-Star form by the playoffs? If not, we have Scott Clemmensen who has been the responsible in net while the Devils have made their mark so far this season.
Clemmer wont be traded, I hope Weekes gets a chance to land on a team where he is THE #2 guy, not #3, and I don’t see why a well rested Brodeur cant get into the groove soon enough.
Brodeur/Clemmensen are not a bad goal tandem in the playoffs.
“IF” for any reason we get an offer to make that happen, and it included Clemmenssen I would not hesitate.

Truly yours,
