Last night the Sharks took a bite out of the Coyotes. For me this was the first full game I have been able to watch for sometime due to my very demanding work schedule right now. Well what a good one to catch. I know most people don't get very excited to see the Sharks take on the Coyotes but I always love to see our boys in teal knock aside the team lead by the Great One.
The Sharks controlled the play for the most part and other than a few boneheaded penalties they played a balanced rough yet disciplined game. The fight involving Clowe was not much of a fight but it shows that no Sharks player, no matter how important he is to have on the ice, is going to take crap from anyone. I know Drew completely disagreed with what Clowe did, he made that very clear on the T.V. broadcast last night, but I don't mind it one bit. I see it this way, if Clowe does not bruise it up once in a while he gets away from what he does best, playing a rough yet technical type of game. He has been one of the Sharks best forwards because he works hard and knows how to go to the net. He is also one of the top guys because he can hold is own. When Clowe starts backing down he gives up space. He creates room and respect for himself by playing the way he plays and when he gets away from doing that I believe he loses his edge.
You would hardly know this team is without 2 of their top defensmen at the moment, Boyle out with a wrist injury and Lukowich recovering from hernia surgery. With those two guys out of the line up you expect to see Nabokov step it up and he did just that last night. While the Sharks played a good game, Nabokov was busy playing a great game. He was simply everywhere last night, making second and third saves all night long. Not much more you can say about Nabby other than he was the best Shark on the ice last night.
So I have not had a chance to launch the new part of my blog yet. I am really excited about getting this started, I just have not been able to find the time. Tomorrows match up against Chicago is sure to be a good one so what do you say we go live tomorrow morning. Grab a cup of coffee and join the me and some guests for the first Sharks Game Day episode. This show is going to be a pre-recorded show in the future but why not have the inaugural show go live. Ryan has been doing an awesome job with the Sharks post game shows and I wish I could jump in but it has been difficult juggling work time and personal time. So as Ryan keeps the live post game shows rolling I will try to get the Game Day shows rolling so you guys can enjoy as much Sharks talk as you can get.
If you would like to be a guest on a future show you can send me an email or just leave it in the comment section. I will round up a crew for tomorrows show and post a blog with the all the info this evening.
Have a great day everyone! GO SHARKS!
