Are the Rangers in on Vinny?

just a quick hit here from a source that just texted me,

"I find it hard to believe that the Rangers would not be able and willing to throw more into a deal for Vinny than anyone else. Staal, Dubinsky, Prucha, +"

stay tuned for more including a Hockeybuzzcast at 5 pm...

Start Here...Eric Francis in the Calgary Sun wrote...."Enjoy Michael Cammalleri the rest of the season, because on July 1, he'll be a Toronto Maple Leaf, making almost as much money as Jarome Iginla"

While I do agree that Cammalleri may very well be elsewhere, possibly even by the deadline, my sources in Toronto say the Leafs aren't going to be clamoring over him. Fact is Cammalleri is not viewed as a "sure thing" and in this economy may find it hard to pull Iginla-like numbers. There are enough teams that will be in the running that Cammalleri's price will be solid, but enough people remember his last season in LA. Especially certain important people who were playing across town.

The Wings made the right move in signing Zetterberg today to a 12 year/6 per deal. Many have pointed to this as a signal that Hossa and Franzen are good as gone. In actuality Hossa's one year deal was a one year deal for a reason. I would put Hossa signing in Edmonton this summer at close to 80%. There are people I know that told me the plan long ago...Franzen, on the other hand, I do believe will remain a Red Wing. I think that is the reason Zetterberg's deal is 6 per and not 7 or 8.

Vinny has finally left the Montreal media behind. After an All-Star weekend followed by a Lightning/Habs game last night I am pretty sure #4 is done answering questions.

I am told however that last night there may have been some movement towards the inevitable trade of Vinny. Again, from what I can say at this point, it is not only the Habs that are involved here...

More to come.
