Briere Surgery Just Playing It Safe. Not Dire at All

At first glance it doesn't look good, but right now it is pretty much pointless to expect the worst. In actuality, Danny Briere having exploratory surgery and missing another 14 days is nothing more than attempt to see if there is a bigger reason that Briere is having a hard time overcoming.

Briere is focused on being 100% when he is the most needed: Playoff time. Over the past four seasons no one in the NHL had put more playoff points together, and the Flyers and Briere know it. Yesterday, Briere was just sitting out tonight due to some soreness believed to be connected to the fact that his muscles hadn't been used very much this season. Instead, the Flyers and Danny decided it was worth a look, just in case something is wrong and can be corrected before April.

Briere is frustrated, but very focused on winning in April, May and June. The Flyers are fortunately deep enough and healthy enough to be able to afford this cautious approach.

As of now, that's all this is...Flyers fans can relax and think Macro, not micro

I am down at the Flyers/Thrashers game....I will be updating with rumors later on, including my sources information on any possible Pronger trade rumors.

Be sure to watch this year's All Star Game live from Montreal on VERSUS!
