Blues Goaltender Manny Legace suffered a lower body muscle after slipping on a piece of carpet prior to the game vs. Los Angeles.

Before the game Legace slipped on a rug layed out on the ice for Govenor Sarah Palin who dropped the ceremonial first puck.

I can't confirm this is how Legace suffered his lower body injury but at this point it will be hard to convince me otherwise. Prior to the Blues coming on the ice I told the person next to me in the Scottrade pressbox that the rug was an injury waiting to happen.

Memo to the Scottrade staffer.....Hockey Players don't wear high Heels!

This was a major error on behalf of the Scottrade Center staff and in my opinion it's completely inexcusable.

There was no way for the players to avoid the carpet as it was placed right where the players enter the ice from the bench.

Why they would lay the rug out prior to the players stepping out on the ice?

This made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Immediately after Legace fell it was obvious he was shaken up.

Legace has had knee surgery the past two summers.

Rookie Ben Bishop has entered the game for the first time in his NHL career.

Blues Clues!

D-man Jonas Junland will play Saturday night in Peoria. It is unknown how long he will stay there.

Alex Pietrangelo will likely begin practicing with the team on Monday or Tuesday. He's been skating the last several days on his own.

Goaltender Chris Mason is expected to be back on skates early next week.

Legace will likely be unable to backup Bishop on Saturday. Marek Schwarz will be re-called if this is the case.
