Updated:

As rumoured here earlier today, Mark Bell has been waived by the Leafs.

Gaborik Contract Talks Stop

Gaborik's strategy at this point appears to be "ask for a ton and sign" or "get to pick your team this summer." Given what I am hearing of the offers made by the Wild I am not convinced that this has anything to do with th money. No one else would likely make such an injury prone player such a long deal. And as I have said in the past, "Gaborik is as exciting as they come, maybe the fastest player in the game today, but is he one of the top 5 players in the NHL today.?"

Today it is gloomy in Minnesota with no contract talks scheduled....

There have been rumours that in the next few years Hossa, Gaborik, and Demitra would love to play together. The three Slovaks are very close. Demitra has one more year in Vancouver and the Canucks are "VERY HIGH" on Gaborik's list I am told, as is Edmonton who is the ODDS ON favorite to land Hossa this coming summer.

So here's the rub..

If you are the Wild your options are a game of high stakes poker.

*If you can find a team out east that Gabs wants to play for long term, you need to trade him NOW to get the most return.

*If you wait until the deadline you could send him anywhere and get less return since teams will look at him more like teams looked at Hossa last year. A chip for their playoff run.

I am impressed at the Wild's handling of this so far, given that this is THE real gut check point in this organization's young history.

Warrener to Tampa(e3)

Rumours are swirling in Calgary that Warrener could be headed to Tampa to add some "much needed" grit.

Berard

Also, Tampa, Ottawa, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, and Buffalo have been rumoured to have interest in Bryan Berard.
