From a source...there are many teams talking tonight in preparation for what could be an interesting week...still looking for details but talking to another team person high up he informed me that he is hearing that NJ is talking to Edmonton and Vancouver and the Bruins are talking...

add this to continuing rumours that Montreal and Edmonton may be hooking up.

no names as of yet, but hopefully by morning...

Hot off the Presses.....

FLYERS ADD SECOND GAME IN WACHOVIA SPECTRUM TO PRESEASON SCHEDULE TO ACCOMMODATE HEAVY DEMAND FOR TICKETS...FLYERS TO ALSO FACE PHILADELPHIA PHANTOMS AT WACHOVIA SPECTRUM
ON OCTOBER 7.....TICKETS INCLUDING A SPECIALLY PRICED $19.67 TICKET TO COMMEMORATE OPENING YEAR OF SPECTRUM TO GO ON SALE ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 AT 10 A.M.

Due to overwhelmingly popular demand to see the Philadelphia Flyers one last time in their former home, the Wachovia Spectrum, the Flyers have added an additional preseason game to their schedule and will face their American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, in an exhibition game at the Wachovia Spectrum on Tuesday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, including a special $19.67 ticket to commemorate the opening year of the Spectrum, will go on sale on Wednesday, September 10 at 10 a.m.

"The interest in seeing the Flyers one more time in their former home has been overwhelming," said Flyers Senior VP Shawn Tilger. "(Flyers Chairman) Ed Snider and (Comcast-Spectacor President) Peter Luukko wanted to make sure everyone has an opportunity to see the Flyers in the Spectrum one last time before it closes. This is a terrific way to accommodate the demand for tickets."

The Flyers-Phantoms exhbition game was added due to the demand for tickets to see the Flyers play the Carolina Hurricanes at the Wachovia Spectrum in a preseason contest on Saturday, September 27, which will be shown live on Comcast SportsNet in HD.

Comcast-Spectacor is closing the 42-year-old Wachovia Spectrum at the conclusion of the 2008-09 Philadelphia Phantoms and Philadelphia Kixx hockey and soccer seasons....

On the Sundin Rumour Front...

Mats met with Toronto, and I am told that he will also meet with Montreal prior to going back to Sweden...There are people who believe that this meeting is "just a courtesy" but I don't believe that. It is really quite simple...when you are on the fence about a decision and you are meeting with teams you must be looking for guidance to help you make your answer...Something to sway you.

I believe the Canadiens are in great shape here and the fact that they are holding off from acquiring Schneider at the risk of losing him to another team tells you plenty...

more to come as this rainy day in Phillly progresses...
