Alexander Radulov has officially been suspended for one year. Here's the release from the team (with areas bolded that I find highly interesting):

"NASHVILLE PREDATORS ISSUE STATEMENT

Nashville, Tenn. (September 2, 2008) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that Alexander Radulov has been suspended indefinitely without pay for the 2008-09 season.

Radulov, 22, has one season remaining on his existing entry level contract. During the off-season, he signed a contract with a Russian KHL team in violation of his NHL contract.

The Predators recently advised Radulov that he had until September 1 to notify the Predators of his intention to return to the club in time for the 2008-09 season or face suspension.

We are disappointed Alex will not be with the Predators at the start of this season,” said Poile. “He is a world class player who demonstrated last season, with 26 goals and 58 points, that he is an emerging NHL talent. However, since he has not responded to our recent correspondence, we must move forward with our plans for the coming season.

At some point, we hope Alex will have a desire to return to the NHL and compete in the best league in the world, with and against the best competition. We will re-visit his status at that time.

Until then, we are focused on the players who are representing the Predators and providing them the necessary support and guidance. We will not allow Alex’s situation to be a distraction and, as such, will have no further comment on Alex or his situation.*

So that is resolved, at least until next season where they have to either suspend him again or welcome his back with hesitant open arms.

*I hope this doesn't mean that we will never hear the official story of how all of this saga went down.... I'd love to hear if the org. was caught as off guard as I think they were.

What is the next move to fix the Radulov hole? We shall see....

Also, I'm attempting to get an interview with Dan Ellis so be on the lookout for that in the coming days.

Till next time, take care.
