Tocchet vs. W. Clark? G. Cochrane vs. H. Marini? Lindros vs. Stevens? Schultz and Any Behn Wilson scrap...
Last night I caught up with a bud at Kaminski's in Cherry Hill, and we got to talking "memorable Flyers fights." We came up with some good ones but there are dozens more. One can even classify by decade...Here's a running start. Can't wait to read what you all come up with.
Ed Hospodar jumping on the ice after Claude Lemieux after Lemieux shot a puck into the open Flyers net to end the pre-game shot around. If you will recall this was a pre-game ritual that Lemieux and Shane Corson took part in and the Flyers were rumored to have warned the Canadiens not to do or there would be consequences. Here is a YouTube clip of the whole thing:

When you look at the guys on the ice, it is amazing that it did not get a whole lot worse. Look at the meat that was out there:
Flyers
Dave Brown
Rick Tocchet
Ed Hospodar
Don Nachbaur
Daryl Stanley
Canadiens
Chris Nilan
Shane Corson
John Kordic
Mike McPhee
Rick Tocchet Vs. Wendel Clark

What you don't see is that Clark crushed Mark Howe behind the net and Tocchet saw this from the blue line where his defensive responsibility was. One camera angle showed that he immediately dropped the mitts at the blue line and skated top speed after Clark and then took it to him. GREAT fight.
Eric Lindros Vs. Scott Stevens

The fight itself was good but it really was the drama that lead up to it that made it so great... These 2 were absolutely head hunting each other for many games and finally it came to this.
Glenn Cochrane Vs. Hector Marini
This is a beauty. The first video is their first fight and Cochrane absolutely rocks him:

This is the second fight that Marini wanted to get his revenge and winds up looking like a scared school boy after getting tooled by the class bully. Look at the expression on Marini's face as the refs are saving his life. Great stuff.
