Don't Count Out New York Yet For Winter Classic 2

Quick Hit prior to my rumour update...

Since the last Ice Bowl I have predicted that the Hawks and Red Wings would play in Chicago for Ice Bowl 2. I did think it would be in Soldier Field, but it looks as though Wrigley is the better bet.

However talking to a pair of league sources yesterday I was told that Chicago is a great option, but at this time there is absolutely no confirmation. Another source agreed saying that New York and Chicago were indeed the finalists.

However what does look to be a certainty is that there will be an Ice Bowl 2. And that is great news!

I have long said that Ice Bowl 1 was the single most magical sporting event I have ever attended, and whether it is in NY or Chi-town, both cities will have to come up huge to top the incredible atmosphere that the fans of Buffalo (and several Pens fans) showed us on January 1.

I am still making my calls and getting the latest from my sources. One thing I was told is that Mats Sundin's decision may be coming sooner than later and that Montreal is still VERY much in it...
