New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that forward Sean Avery suffered a lacerated spleen in last night's game, and will be sidelined for the remainder of the season. He was taken to St. Vincent's hospital after the game, and was admitted following a CT scan. He is expected to make a full recovery during the off-season.

ACCORDING TO THE NY DAILY NEWS. AVERY WAS RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL UNCONSCIOUS AND NOT BREATHING AT 3 AM THIS MORNING.

from John Dellapina's Story.

Rangers bad boy Sean Avery, unconscious and not breathing, was rushed to a Manhattan hospital Wednesday morning in cardiac arrest just hours after his team's playoff loss, sources said.

Avery, 28, arrived at St. Vincent's Medical Center about 3 a.m., according to the hospital source. The Rangers had just lost 5-3 a short time earlier in the Stanley Cup playoffs against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Madison Square Garden.

AVERY

Ek's Note...Whatever you think of Avery as a hockey player, this is terrible. I ask for all of you to join me in praying for Avery and his family at this time. May you pull through Sean.

I am looking into this story with my sources, and I will warn you that there is a TON of misinformation out there. I will NOT report and of the RUMOURS of what happened here at this time, simply out of respect for Avery. I do caution you to be VERY cautious about ANYTHING you read on the internet regarding this.
