Montreal Lucky to Be In the Series...As Philadelphia's Confidence Grows
The Flyers showed tons of character in finding a way to win Game 2 behind the stellar pay of Marty Biron and the clutch goal scoring of RJ Umberger. Were it not for a questionable High Sticking Goal, a Phantom Tripping Penalty to
Mike Richards, and a broken
Jeff Carter stick, the Canadiens would be heading to Philly down 2-0 and facing a possible death blow Monday Night. The refereeing in game 1 left much to be desired and kept the potent Flyers power play from getting the chances it deserved.
It is strikingly apparent to Flyers fans watching at home that these Canadiens don't have nearly the star power or fire power of Ovechkin and the Capitals team that stretched Philly to 7 games in Round 1. The big difference in tonight's Flyers win was that Philly showed that in Game 2 they can find a way to win with Biron shutting the door, and the Flyers showed their depth with role player RJ Umberger notching the two key goals.
The ironic point is that in Game 1, the Flyers simply played a more complete game and lost. Philly was more focused than Montreal, yet Montrealstole the game by capitalizing on a few key breaks, bounces, and a slightly subpar game from Biron.
One thing is certain...following the first two games of the series Flyers fans are making it known all over the internet that they are completely confident not only there goalie but in their teams chances to move quickly in easily into the next round in five or six games. This is evident by the mere fact that Montreal has led 0:00 of playing time in the first two games and the series is tied.

The Canadiens dominated the Flyers in Game 2 and were it not for Biron and a several shots off the post the Flyers would have been facing a death blow game on Monday Night. The refereeing in game 2 left much to be desired and kept the potent Habs power play from getting the chances it deserved.
It is strikingly apparent to Habs fans in the Bell Center that these Flyers don't have nearly the speed of the upstart Bruins team that tretched Montreal to 7 games in Round 1. The big difference in Games 1 and 2 was that Montreal showed that in Game 1 they can find a way to win with Kovalev tying the game late, and the Habs showed their depth with their 4th line coming up big in OT.
The ironic point is that in Game 2, the Habs simply played a more complete game and lost. Montreal was far more focused than Philly was, yet Philly stole the game by capitalizing on a few key breaks, bounces, and a slightly subpar game from Price.
