Mark Recchi and The Foppa Market...

The CBA has a rule that in order for a player to be traded who was picked up on waivers he has to first be offered up to any other teams that placed a claim.

A recent article by Craig Constance of the Atllanta Journal Constitution when Craig recently asked GM Don if there were any restrictions to trading Recchi, Don said there were none. This sent a wave of surprise through the hockey world with people asking if Don knew the rule. He does, and in actuality I suppose all this means is that no one else put a claim or Recchi.

If Atlanta is out Rex will be moved. Recchi has already proven a valuable deadline pickup as he played a major role helping the Hurricanes to a Cup after being moved two deadlines ago. Teams interested include Ottawa, Carolina, Montreal, Calgary and San Jose.

There is much debate as to how much Peter Forsberg is going to attract. Word ranges from a two year 2.5 million dollar deal to a three year 12 million deal. I find it hard to imagine that anyone would put more than 4 for 2 for Peter right now. Many teams are interested in Foppa. The Flyers, Rangers, Ducks, and Canadiens in the last three hours...
