According to a source, the Chicago Blackhawks are "putting the final touches on a deal that would send Cam Barker + in exchange for a big-name d'man. Candidates include Kaberle, Boyle, and Brian Campbell. I was told this deal could go down in the next 72 hours."

I have also heard that Antropov may be included in a deal and that deal may or may not be the Chicago deal. I have heard the Flames name mentioned with Antropov.

The Sabres are reportedly looking hard at a deal that could bring Handzus to the Sabres. If you remember the Sabres made a trade at last year's deadline that brought Zubrus to the team and Zubrus played a much larger role in the playoffs than was expected. In many ways Handzus fills that same role, and probably even a better fit.

Rumours are swirling that David Poile could be the next GM of the Leafs come next fall.

BTW. I am at the Flyers/ Panthers game as I write this and there have been several fights early on . What happened to the "Third Man In" rule? As a kid in the eighties and nineties you couldn't go a month without seeing someone tossed for being the third man in to a fight. It was an automatic ejection and no one even argued with it. In this first period, I have witnessed at least two players jumping into scrums as the third man and not even a penalty was called on them.

Has the Instigator Rule taken the place of the Third Man In? And if it has, what does that say about the "Code" in the NHL?
