Talking to sources last night, I have been told that there are ongoing meetings to determine where Rob Blake could possibly go as a rental. It is assumed that Rob will return to LA for next season as he has a great setup there and loves the area.

So far five teams have been mentioned to me.

Boston, Buffalo, Calgary, Pittsburgh and NY Rangers.

I will say though that although I do believe (and pretty much know) the Sabres are going to make a move their focus is NOT on Blake. They are much more likely to look to bulk up, up front.

The Flames are a really interesting case. Talking to sources there, this could be a really intense WIN NOW type of move that could mean the team is seeing a window and jumping full force through it. There is no question that this season is HUGE in the world of the Flames.

The Rangers are going to have some big issues when it comes to clearing the needed space to pick up whatever is left on Rob Blake's contract.

Again, this is where my Ray Bourque Rule would really come into play. I believe an older player and a pending UFA should be able to be moved at the deadline without a cap hit. Who loses in this situation?

The fans get to see the player take a playoff run and the team he is being moved from can get better value.

Just my two cents.

So who out there wants Rob Blake and at what price?
